This year has been quite a whirlwind that has led me to neglect my blog. My time away has been for good reasons and have helped me personally and professionally. I was fortunate to land a promotion that I worked nearly nine years on. With a new job came a lot of new responsibilities, many of which demanded 24/7 availability.
Although my position will always require me to be on-call, the first four months have come and gone. Things are finally settling in and life is returning to normal. My passion for leadership has never been larger.
As cliché as it is, leadership really is more about influence with people than power and ourselves. Spend your days building relationships and being a person of trust instead of a worrying about power or sales. People buy from people they know and trust. If you think leadership isn’t about selling, take a step back and look again. Everything we do as leaders requires buy-in.
See you soon!
Walt Disney was a relationship builder who put trust in others to carry out his vision. The wonders he built at Disneyland and Walt Disney World are nothing short of miraculous.
