If you are trying to build an A team, you probably want to find good people. When your money is on the line, you probably want ethical people working. How can you accomplish this without good values? I don’t think you can.
Sure, bad people have amassed power, conquered industries, and built vast wealth, but that is not the secret to life either. At the end of the day, most people want to live a comfortable life but not at the expense of their values.
What about you?
Have you ever been asked to do something that goes against your values? Talk about losing trust. It really makes it hard to want to work somewhere that goes against everything you stand for. Can you think back to a time when a boss told you to lie to a customer? What about a manager who came in late and left early? The list can go on and on.
If there is one thing that I have learned in life, what gets promoted, gets done. People with good values will either leave or be worn down and do questionable stuff over time. Neither should be acceptable. Every organization needs people of good values to push greatness to the next level.

If you want to operate with good people, you are going to have to operate with good values. Millennials are less forgiving of organizations that are questionable and more willing to quit a job that goes against their purpose. The ball is in your court.
