I didn't set out to become a speaker. I set out to serve.
I started as a firefighter, EMT, and police officer. The jobs taught me that leadership isn't a theory, it's what decides what happens next. From there I became a Chief of Police, responsible for a department, a community, and the people who trusted me to get it right when it mattered.
Every leadership lesson I teach today, I learned before I ever stood on a stage.

I've watched good leaders freeze under pressure. Not because they weren't smart, but because nobody had prepared them for the moment the plan stopped working. I've also watched leaders walk away from the badge without a plan for what came next, unsure how everything they'd built still mattered outside the uniform.
Both of those problems come from the same root: nobody built the readiness ahead of time for the crisis, or for the transition after it. That's the work I do now. Not because I have all the answers, but because I've lived both sides of the question.
