Josh Ball Conducts Major Event Security Training for Tri-Cities Leadership Academy

Louisville, KY — November 7, 2025 — Leadership strategist and security executive Josh Ball delivered specialized training this week for the Tri-Cities Leadership Academy, a collaborative professional development program uniting leaders from the Louisville Metro Police Department, Metro Nashville Police Department, and Knoxville Police Department.
Ball, a former Chief of Police and current Senior Director of Safety & Security for a pro sports team, was invited to teach his signature session, “Beyond the Barricades: Leadership, Planning, and Operational Excellence in Major Event Security.”
The program brought together rising supervisors, command personnel, and emerging leaders from the three agencies to sharpen their skills in crisis management, operational readiness, and large-scale event planning. Ball’s session focused on practical frameworks for leading under pressure, building cross-jurisdictional coordination, and enhancing safety while maintaining positive community experience.

When law enforcement leaders understand how to communicate clearly, prepare deliberately, and operate with purpose, they strengthen both safety and community trust. The Tri-Cities Leadership Academy is building that kind of leader.”
“Beyond the Barricades” draws from Ball’s extensive experience overseeing security operations at high-capacity venues and nationally significant events—including three Kentucky Derbys, NFL games, NCAA championships, concerts, and large-scale community events. His teaching emphasizes holistic planning, interagency collaboration, and the mindset shift required to lead confidently in unpredictable environments.
